Whistle Stop in Deep River

One of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. Cute and charming with good service!

Such a wonderful, family-owned restaurant in a historic town. The building is charming and welcoming. The staff, especially the new owner, Norma, are so kind and inviting. They make you feel like you are at home. The food is truly amazing, and there is definitely something for everyone on the menu: vegan options, meat lover options, gluten free options... the list goes on and on! I personally love the "Chipper", the "Mahoney", and the "Poppa". Also the monthly charity dinners and the economically-friendly choices that the Whistle Stop offers are so admirable, and you always feel like you are supporting a great cause whenever you eat there. By far my favorite breakfast and lunch place in all of Connecticut!

I stopped here for a breakfast sandwich after a hike in a nearby state park. I got a bacon, egg and cheese and a ham, egg and cheese. The eggs were well seasoned and the bread it was on was almost croissant like. It was delicious and inexpensive for what you for! On top of that the service was great and friendly. I definitely recommend a stop in!

This restaurant is a must stop if you're traveling in or around Deep River or Essex CT. I had the Chunky Monkey pancakes and they were as close to home made as you can get. My partner had the spicy crab and egg sandwich that looked and tasted great too. Our waitress was polite and friendly.

This is such a cute cafe! The homemade chicken soup was amazing, and we loved the sandwich and wrap. Also, the iced tea was great. Maddie is such a nice girl, and I mentioned I had an allergy and they offered to clean down the grill before making my meal! We had a great experience.
